Antony joined the Yale Alumni Nonprofit Alliance for a conversation with Ken Inadomi '76 on how philanthropy, finance, government, and nonprofits can work together to expand opportunity and strengthen communities.
Investing in America officially shipped in the US on July 21, and Antony celebrated with its book baby's agemate, Positive Sum by Ford Foundation's Roy Swan, which launched the same day. The two were in conversation with Jenna Nicholas (The Enlightened Bottom Line) at the Harvard Club of NYC for an evening exploring how capitalism can be harnessed to address our national and global challenges.
Woodcock and Surdna Foundations hosted Antony for a pre-launch book party with a mostly foundation and impact investing audience. Overheard at the event: "I'm going to give one to my ultra-conservative father and one to my super-liberal sister so they can have something to talk about and agree on."
On National Investing in America Day (the 237th anniversary of the day in 1789 that Benjamin Franklin amended his will to create loan funds for workers to start their own businesses), Antony shared an overview of the book with a group of impact investors, finance professionals, students, and other partners of the Impact Engine investment advisor firm. He also signed books for participants, delivered directly from the first print run.
Antony spoke at the NYU School of Law Grunin Center Impact Investing conference in New York. The panel, with leading impact investing lawyers, explored the policy and regulatory opportunities and challenges for people looking to expand fair financing in the US.
Antony kicked off the Investing in America knowledge campaign, sharing lessons from innovators expanding fair financing in the United States with impact investing practitioners.
